This wiki is for the 2006-2007 Web Server Maintenance and Security class at SDCCD/NCC.

The goal of this site is to have an area where we can all share our class notes and other imformation about computing. Here we supplement the contents of our class home on webct.

editing tips

& nbsp works as in normal html (remove the space)

& eacute; (remove the space) makes an accent like Angélica.

Start sentences like in English, with a capital letter. Use the <tt> tag to make things like command names more clear:
Emacs is an editor. emacs is the Linux command that launches an editing session, usually in a new window.

About My Server

My server is running Debian Linux on a 2G Celeron with 512 MB of RAM. It sits under my desk and is connected to the internet by dsl service from speakeasy.net.
