tips
Switch to English spelling
Version 6.1 defaults to a German dictionary for spell checking.
I tried to switch it to English by moving or deleting the files in /etc/dictionaries-common, then:
root@Microknoppix:/etc/dictionaries-common# ln -s /usr/share/dict/american-english .
but it is still using the German dictionary.
I need to look into this. Maybe it has something to do with the locale command?
Install to a USB thumb drive
Recent versions include a utility that allows you to create a Knoppix boot USB thumb drive. A 2G thumb drive works nicely for the 6.1 CD version.
