Knoppix is a linux distrubution in the form of a bootable CD.

Versions

The last CD version of Knoppix that includes emacs is 4.0.2. The current DVD version 5.3.1 is very complete and even includes ntfs-3g.

Use these at the boot prompt:

knoppix testcd                            Check CD/DVD data integrity and md5sums

knoppix desktop=beryl|fluxbox|gnome|      Use specified window manager
icewm|kde|lg3d|larswm|twm|openbox|wmaker|  
xfce|xtce4

knoppix 2                                 Runlevel 2, Textmode only

knoppix noeject                           Do NOT eject CD after halt

knoppix noprompt                          Do NOT prompt to remove the CD

knoppix splash                            Boot with fancy backgroun splashscreen
