usage
It is not straightforward to use. See ??? hmm... can't find that page anymore!
Here is a synopsis:
- Run the VCdControlTool.exe program.
- In Virtual CDRom Control Panel, click Driver Control.
- In Virtual CR-Rom Driver Control, click Install Driver.
- Locate the %systemroot%\System32\Driver folder, click VCdRom.sys, and then click Open.
- In Virtual CR-Rom Driver Control, click Start, and then click OK.
- In Virtual CDRom Control Panel, click Add Drive, and then click Mount.
- Select the .ISO image that you want to mount, and then click Open.
- In Select Mount Options, click Ok.
What worked for me:
- Copy VCdRom.sys to D:\Windows\System32\drivers\
- Run the VCdControlTool.exe program.
- In Virtual CDRom Control Panel, click Driver Control.
- In Virtual CR-Rom Driver Control, click Install Driver.
- Locate the C:Windows\System32\drivers folder, click VCdRom.sys, and then click Open.
- In Virtual CR-Rom Driver Control, click Start, and then click OK.
- In Virtual CDRom Control Panel, click Add Drive, and then click Mount.
- Select the .ISO image that you want to mount, and then click Open.
- In Select Mount Options, click Ok.

tips
The installer is also included in GeorgesGoodieDisk as on 7 July 2007.
The virtual cd control panel is supposed to be for XP, but it also worked for me under 2003 server running on VMWare.
