shorewall
shorewall is an package that aids in firewall management.
The Shoreline Firewall, more commonly known as "Shorewall", is a high-level tool for configuring Netfilter.FIXME - Need to refer to the shorewall.net
The current stable version is the 4.0.2. It is available from shorewall.net. The deb package on debian/ubuntu/mint is older.
In using shorewall, you make a set of configuration files that are "compiled" to create the iptable commands. There are good sample configuration files that come with the shorewall package. Starting with version 4, shorewall uses a perl-based compiler; previously it used a compiler based on sh.
